Zoller Family Scholarship

The Zoller Family $1,000.00 Scholarship was established to help talented and promising students who display a desire to continue their education and are struggling with the financial aspect of accomplishing their goal. Financial need, desire to better themselves, and academic ability are the main criteria for the scholarship. Scholarship applications may be obtained through the College & Career Office at MHS.
The Zoller Family Scholarship was established by the four Zoller brothers pictured above: Bernard Updegraff "Buz" Zoller, Jr., Class of 1954; Daniel Courtney "Dan" Zoller, Class of 1957; James Douglas "Jimmy" Zoller, Class of 1963; and Jerry Nelson Zoller, Class of 1964. Dan was honored as our Outstanding Alumni in 2001, and Jerry was honored in 2025.

There are 20 graduates of our Alma Mater with the last name Zoller, and many additional descendants of the family. The first Zoller Family Member to graduate was the father of these brothers, Bernard Updegraff "Buz" Zoller, a member of the Bradenton High School Class of 1924. The brothers all grew up in Bradenton, raised their families here, and still live in Bradenton. The Zoller brothers want to give back to their Alma Mater, and their scholarship will be awarded to a student attending a trade school, accredited college, or university within Florida, with more emphasis on those enrolled in a trade school, as they feel those individuals will most probably contribute their skills within Manatee County.
